I don’t tend to cook jacket potatoes, it’s not because I don’t like them but by the time I think of it it’s too late. My cooker takes ages to heat up and then they take an hour in the oven. So, by the time I think of it it’s too late.
However, if you pop them in the slow cooker in the morning all you have to do is sort the topping. (e.g. Chili and Cheese, Tuna and Sweetcorn, Prawn Mayo or Beans). Perfect when you have friends around or a special occasion like Bonfire Night, etc.
It’s easy really…..
Simply scrub a few baking potatoes, pat them dry, poke with a fork, wrap in foil and place in the slow cooker for 8-10 hours. DO NOT ADD ANY LIQUID.
One of my lovely twitter followers @redsilkscarf tried them lastnight, topped with Chilli, Cheese, Chives and Basil and her other half said….
‘best he’s ever had!’
